Short Bio:
Stephen Wechsler (PhD Stanford 1991) is a fellow of the Alma Cowden Madden Centennial Professorship in Linguistics, at The University of Texas at Austin. A specialist in syntax and semantics, his research focuses on three areas: the interface between syntax and word meaning; self-reference; and the interface between syntax and morphology. The first area is the subject of two books, 'The Semantic Basis of Argument Structure' (1995, CSLI) and 'Word Meaning and Syntax -- Approaches to the interface' (2015, Oxford University Press). His 2005 book 'The Many Faces of Agreement', coauthored with Larisa Zlatić, addresses grammatical agreement in person, number, and gender.
