Short Bio:
I am an assistant professor of linguistics specializing in phonology and phonological acquisition at Simon Fraser University. Using a variety of theoretical and experimental methods, I study how children learn the phonologies of their native languages, as well as how they learn to match the incoming speech stream to stored lexical representations. I also study how people use knowledge of their language's phonological rules to recognize speech. I use eye-tracking as a method to study real-time speech perception and word recognition.
